Ferrari driver misses turn in Novena, reverses onto main road as motorists honk
A contributor driving along Thomson Road towards Novena during evening peak hour on Monday told Town Tales Pro he watched a red Ferrari overshoot a left turn, stop abruptly, and reverse back across two lanes while other motorists sounded their horns.
"He missed the entrance completely," the contributor, Mr Koh, said. "Then he just reversed like the road belonged to him. Cars behind had to brake hard. I thought someone was going to rear-end him."
According to Mr Koh, the incident occurred at approximately 6:20pm near the junction with Moulmein Road. He submitted 45 seconds of dashcam footage showing the sports car blocking the middle and right lanes for nearly a minute before completing a three-point turn and entering the side street.
Traffic rules apply to everyone
Under the Road Traffic Act, reversing on a main road in a manner that obstructs traffic can constitute careless driving. The Singapore Police Force has previously appealed for dashcam footage in hit-and-run and reckless driving cases, though Town Tales Pro has not confirmed whether this incident was reported to authorities.
Mr Koh said several motorcyclists gestured at the driver during the manoeuvre. "Nobody got out of their car, but you could feel the frustration," he said. "Peak hour on Thomson Road is bad enough without a supercar doing a U-turn in the middle of traffic."
Community reaction
The story has drawn mixed reactions, with some commenters criticising the driver’s road behaviour and others arguing that missing a turn can happen to anyone. Several contributors noted that luxury car incidents frequently generate disproportionate attention on social media compared with similar manoeuvres by other vehicles.
Town Tales Pro reviewed the dashcam footage and confirmed the sequence described. The vehicle’s licence plate has been redacted from all published materials.
