About us

Community storytelling with editorial standards

Town Tales Pro was founded in 2022 by a small team of former digital editors who noticed a pattern: the most widely shared content in Singapore was not coming from newsrooms — it was coming from residents filming arguments at void decks and posting them to social media.

What we do

We publish community-submitted stories about everyday incidents across Singapore — neighbour disputes, public transport encounters, hawker centre drama, workplace grievances, and the small moments that spark island-wide debate. Each submission is reviewed by a human editor, rewritten for clarity and readability, and published with the contributor's consent.

Our writing style is deliberately conversational. Headlines are direct. Opening paragraphs place the reader at the scene. We use the term "contributor" rather than "Stomper" or "netizen" because we want our voice to be our own — but anyone familiar with Singapore's citizen journalism culture will recognise the format we honour.

What we are not

Town Tales Pro is not affiliated with STOMP, SPH Media, Mediacorp, or any government agency. We are not a registered news organisation under Singapore's licensing framework, and we do not claim to deliver breaking news or investigative journalism. We are a community platform that curates eyewitness accounts with editorial care.

We are also not a forum. There are no comment threads, upvote buttons, or user profiles on this site. Discussion happens elsewhere — on social media, in WhatsApp groups, at the coffee shop. Our role is to preserve and present the story itself.

Our team

Our editorial team of six works from a shophouse office at 112 Joo Chiat Road. We include former lifestyle editors, a legal researcher who handles defamation review, and two community liaisons who maintain relationships with regular contributors in heartland estates. We operate Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm Singapore time.

Transparency

We do not accept payment from contributors or subjects in exchange for publication or suppression of stories. We do not sell advertising space on individual story pages. Our revenue comes from sponsored section listings clearly labelled as partnerships, disclosed at the top of any affected page.
